A Beautiful Summer Barn Wedding in Hampshire
I've been looking forward to sharing this beautiful summer barn wedding in Hampshire for ages, so glad I found the time to select images from this gorgeous wedding.
I remember getting my first email from Clem & Tim, some couples contact several photographers before they decide, but Clem knew she wanted me to cover the day after seeing Sarah & Cam's wedding. It doesn't happen often, but it's pretty amazing when a couple picks the date of the wedding from your availability! The words humbled and honoured doesn't quite do it justice.
Clem & Tim's barn wedding set in the picturesque village of Ibthorpe deep in the Hampshire countryside which had some beautiful moments running throughout the day. The couple decided to have a first look before the ceremony at the venue where Clem was getting ready, I love it when Tim's sees his future wife for the first time, I always imagine that will be the moment that will stay in their minds long after the wedding has finished.
The couple carried on doing things their own way by walking down the aisle of St Peter's church together! Think I was in photography excitement overload at this point, and this is even before the beautiful vows and choir had brought the church to an emotional silence, they were sensational. The heavens opened at this point, so the couple decided to do the confetti throwing inside the church with the sounds of the Tim's brother's brass band to keep everyone dancing while the rain came down!
Back the reception, the sun started to disperse the clouds, and the wedding turned out to be a classic summer's day! The Brass Funkeys carried on their awesome covers as the guests filled the sun-drenched gardens. After the wedding breakfast, it was time for the speeches, always my favourite part of the day and this wedding was no exception. Full of tears, love, laughter and a crazy best men speech in which they brought out letters and gifts that the couple had exchanged in their teenage years of dating! So funny and a little bit excruciating for them… haha
I've photographed a few brides wearing Grace Loves Lace dresses, and they never disappoint. Clem looks perfect in an open back lace dress, and it seemed to complete the wedding as she and Tim went to watch the sunset just above the venue, we were so lucky with the timing, but it did mean that we had to scale a couple of fences, no mean feat in that dress! Bravo, Clem!
The end of the night returned back to the barn for the final set of the Brass Funkeys this time joined by the Groom's brother and best man who not only performed but also composed a unique piece for the couple, how wonderful is that! They really got the whole place jumping, and this was after they had to leave a festival just to make it the wedding! They had to go straight back after, legends.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this beautiful barn wedding in Hampshire as much as I did, let me know what you think at the bottom of the page! And if you like this one make sure you check out Luisa & Jack's tipi wedding & my best of 2017 which includes some of these lovely images!

Stunning work Richard. I just love the sunset field shots!
Outstanding work mate. Some great moments captured but your compositions and use of light really show your mastery of the craft.
